The YAM’s online database is a work in progress. We are constantly adding keywords, researching artists, updating descriptions, and improving photographs. Please contact registrar@artmuseum.org if you have information to add, suggestions, or questions about the collection.
Tips for Searching
Use the top navigation tabs to browse by theme, search for specific artists or works of art, view random images, or search by catalog. After searching, click on any record to view catalog information. Click again on the thumbnail image to view image full size.
Keyword Search
The Keyword Search button allows you to quickly search multiple fields in the Art and Archive catalogs for names, titles, subjects, media, etc.
Category
Search for specific artists by clicking the first letter of their last name, and then on their name. All works by the artist will be returned by the search. Or search by subject for all works that have been marked with that tag.
Advanced Search
Advanced Search allows you to search multiple categories to narrow your results.
Random Images
The Random Images button is a great way to browse the collection. Each page displays a random assortment of images from the records online.
- Browse through random images from the database one screen at a time.
- Click the thumbnail to view a larger version of the image. You may continue browsing one image at a time or x out to return to the image grid.
- Click View Catalog Record for more information.
Archives
The Archives catalog houses papers, sketches, photographs, documents, journals, and other items that document the activities, work methods, and interests of artists in the YAM collection.
Art
The Art catalog includes paintings, sculptures, drawings, and other fine art media. These works have been accessioned into the permanent collection for the purpose of exhibition.
