Art Search Tips

The Art catalog includes paintings, sculptures, drawings, and other fine art media. These works have been accessioned into the permanent collection for the purpose of exhibition.

  • Searches use OR to connect words (e.g. a search for Will James will return records that include the words Will OR James). If you want to find records with both keywords, type AND between words.
  • Use the asterisk (*) as a wildcard (e.g. a search for histor* would return records containing history, histories, historical, etc.). A search for Animals or Animal* will return more records than a search for Animal.
  • To search by phrase (two or more words) wrap your criteria in quotes. ex: "Find me"
  • Searches are not case sensitive.
  • Artist names are entered “Last, First”.
  • After searching, click on any record to view catalog information. Click again on the thumbnail image to view image full size.
